PacketProtector Rocks

Postby gatekeeper » Thu Sep 07, 2006 6:36 pm

Hi All,

Has anyone tried using the PacketProtector load for an open source router.

I have been experimenting with it for about a months now and was able to add a few features withy a little help from Charlie.

IPVS - Load balancing
Knockd - Added security feature for that allows port to be opened for a specific ammount of time. It is like adding a combination lock on the door.
Logs for IPTables
Logs for IPVSADM
Logs for Firewall Status

It is based on OpenWRT

Take a look for yourself,

Hi Charlie,

I will be sending you some info to aid in the development of packet protector. I was real happy, I was able to add settings for my wireless client when connecting my router to the WAN via wireless client. It worked real nicely once I figured out some required settings.

Keep up the great work over there.

P.S.
I am using my packetprotector as a inside secure gateway, soon I will be migrating it to my primary router. Once I can narrow down the QoS settings. I can say I really like what you have done and the added security features I was able to add on my own.

Thanks again,

Hi Charlie,

I have a new WRTSL54GS router that is a blend between PacketProtector and X-WRT, it also serves as a Samba Server, Roaming Profile server.

Great device for the kids music.

Thanks for all you do,
